Our story
A moving firm out of Medway
Chatham Removals grew from a simple observation: the moves that go wrong round here go wrong for local reasons. A lorry sent up a street it can’t get down. A crew that’s never met a Chatham staircase. A quote read off a screen that swells the minute the van turns up. We built a firm to move Medway households the way the place actually is — steep, tight-streeted, tied to the river, and worth doing right.
Where we come from
We’re based in Chatham and we work the Medway towns — Gillingham, Rochester, Strood and Rainham — and out into wider Kent. Between us we’ve carried more Medway homes than we could count, from a single fragile piece out of a Rochester flat to a full house bound for a container to Cyprus.
The same firm runs a Mediterranean arm, because a fair few of the households we pack aren’t staying in Kent — they’re bound for France, Spain, Cyprus or Malta, and they want the people who packed the box to be the people who deliver it.
How we’d rather work
Carefully enough to leave your walls and stairs the way we found them. Locally enough to know which street takes a lorry and which needs a shuttle. Plainly enough that you always know what’s happening and what it costs. We answer our own phone and quote our own jobs — the person you speak to first sees your move through.
We won’t dress the firm up with things that aren’t true. There are no invented review counts on this site, no award badges we didn’t earn, no press logos we can’t stand behind. When real reviews and credentials come in, they’ll go here — and not before.
